The Delftenaar is internationally renowned because of their unmatched drinking abilities. This is a result of a combination of male competitiveness and unlimited enthusiasm. The Shotgun is one of the sweetest fruits picked from this Titian tree. The Delftenaar was plagued, however, by the many theories and myths surrounding this activity. Some of these theories lead to loss of efficiency and as such to a blot on the reputation of the Delft drinkers. To once again elevate the efficiency of Delft drinking to superhuman Hooghtes, we have decided to bundle our knowledge on this topic and to support the theory with scientific models and empirical research. With this, we want to pass our knowledge on to a new generation, such that their drinking level can excel at an early stage. In this dictation, all known actions surrounding “De Shotgun” shall be presented and fact will be separated from fiction. To start, the Basis will be treated, followed by a deeper treatment of the more advanced techniques with which the Shotgun becomes the pearl on the velvet cushion of the Delft drinking culture.
